This blog is inspired by ‘The Right to Research Coalition’ which was founded by students to promote an open scholarly publishing system. Their belief is that no student should be denied access to the articles they need because their institution cannot afford the often high cost of access. This blog aims to bring the awareness of Open Access Publication from North America to Singapore as part of the effort to reach out to as many student organizations from around the world.
The two main aims of these programs are:
* To advocate for policies at the campus and national level that promote Open Access by requiring that research results (especially publicly funded) be made freely available in a timely manner
* To educate the next generation of scholars and researchers about Open Access so open publishing becomes the new norm.
